Why build on a different database?
BioTwin began as a way to put 8DB’s architecture to work on difficult biological questions. Rather than treating each calculation as an isolated endpoint, the ambition is to preserve the scientific structures and reasons that connect one decision to the next.
- Build for connected biology · Keep scientific objects, their operations and their evidence together. The 8DB Foundation
- Put the ambition to work · Develop the platform through consequential scientific questions. Lp(a) Research
- Let evidence guide expansion · Test whether useful methods and findings transfer into further programs. Evidence
Develop the platform through real research questions
Early work includes proteome-scale computation, focused E3 opportunities and a developed computational covalent Lp(a) program. These investigations provide concrete questions for evaluating the platform and its scientific methods.
From computational work to experimental evidence
Computational work gives us mechanisms and candidates to challenge. The next stage requires suitable molecular and biological experiments, followed by the development work justified by those results. Partners bring the scientific expertise and experimental capacity to test what the platform proposes.
The opportunity for partners and investors
The investment case includes both candidate programs and the methods they leave behind. A useful scientific operation can become part of another investigation; a failed mechanism can save a later program from repeating the same mistake. Demonstrating that transfer is central to the platform’s next stage.
